Bookcases made of plastic and PVC materials may replace soon the wood bookcases, sold in many stores. Wood as a material in the making of bookcases and other items of furniture may soon find replacement, if only to save the forests from disappearing completely from the globe.

The two major environmental problems of global warming and the rising world temperatures are attributed to the imbalance of the atmosphere due to the growing lack of trees, which kept the balance before in the environment. If humanity is to find correct solution to the two problems now, it will be imperative to restore the forests of the world.     

This new plastic and PVC material that can replace wood comes from the recycling industry which is now fast growing throughout the world, as the new source of construction materials for houses, or for items like furniture and bookcases for kids.

This development augurs well for the world’s environment, which has been having the huge problem of how to dispose of non- biodegradable garbage for the past many years. These huge garbage files of plastic, iron and glass have become a major headache in many cities in all countries because they do not rot and become part of the earth's soil cover.

These big piles of non-biodegradable garbage were eyesores in many places used as garbage dumps before the people thought of the idea of recycling them to make other items used for many other purposes. Since the time that recycling has become an accepted practice, the piles of non-biodegradable garbage are disappearing, leaving only the garbage items that can rot after a number of years.

In many countries now, you can always see big trucks hauling all kinds of recyclables to the factories ready to receive them for melting into new usable materials for the manufacture of new furniture like table, chairs, bookcases, and even ready-made doors that can be installed right away in the construction industry. 

Buyers of Wood Bookshelves and other furniture items will even welcome the new bookcases made of plastic and other synthetic materials as they are actually stronger and more durable, unlike wood which deteriorates fast especially if the wood termites start eating them up. They are also lighter to move around, if there is a need to do so.

As they are also painted or varnished like wood, the new synthetic bookcases will appear as attractive as the wooden ones selling before. Some of these new bookcases can even pass as wooden in appearance, as some clever varnishing with brown colors can make them look like they are made of wood. This illusion at least can satisfy the egos of those who were particular in the appearance of their furniture before, as hard wood and other attributes of the furniture for many years.
